Great job, putting a Canadian twist on British comedy is a great idea and should get viewers. Looking forward to seeing more, good luck in the upcoming weeks
I love this team's work. Radio is an interesting setting for a comedy show. I am intrigued by the radio workplace and radio attracts a strange mixture of personalities. This would make a unique show and who doesn't remember WKRP fondly?
I think this is a great idea to pull in a small town perspective. I got a good chuckle about the British comedy and bad teeth. keep up the good work.
I like the show concept. Is the language really going questionable? Using terms like "Jesus Christ" isn't really fun to hear on prime time tv which is often family time tv. Hoping that a clean show wins :) l love British comedy if your going that direction.
Weird video but it worked well with the tone of your show. It all can go random. Looking forward to what the team bring forth next! Go team!
I understand what people mean about some of the production needing to be a little better but I always believe that a strong idea and strong writing is what matters most…and you have both
Great concept! Keep refining! I think it will just keep getting better!
Potentially some good stuff here but I think the production could use a bit of work in terms of camera, directing and editing. A little raw but that said - this is about the concept and on a bigger project you wouldn't be handling all duties. Good work overall.
Lol Love these 3, always good for a laugh and a chuckle ..... slow laid back humour mixed with a little spontaneous in your face laugh your ass off kinda laughs
hey guys, i like your humour , your chillness. But i find this video a bit too ''talking about it" more then ''see what the difference" It would be nice to see more actions in your videos , good luck!
Is it possible to be funny without resorting to the inane practice of swearing? Now that would be a truly original thing!
I do agree with you guys that comedy tv today uses a lot of broad strokes to get a few easy laughs (big bang theory im looking at you) and if your show is as nuanced and complex as you say then I can get right behind this, you guys could be like the new fraiser or something a smarter v show with genuinely funny jokes and a cast that you can both relate to and laugh at. It’s the type of show that only comes around every now and then lol hopefully you guys can get it on primetime and turn it into a great show.
Good luck you guys!!!
I sincerely hope you guys land in the top fifteen
Anything that has the Murphy-Kash combo should be hailed as awesome.
Laughing at every video posted so far!! Love it.
I can't wait to see more! Give me more!!! Did anyone ever fantasize being a Philadelphia cream cheese angel servant?
This sitcom would solve at least one major problem that I have with the world: that there isn't enough Linda Kash in it. JESUS CHRIST! What a funny person.
Not so sure I like this anymore, I don't really see where its going. Too much talking about the idea and not enough showing it.
Concept has scope for development that is virtually limitless. While local focus is fun for locals a we - they sit com providing spoofs about small towns deaaling with both their local and the outside world could be fun for broader audience.
Can't wait to see more!
All your videos were great, can't wait to see more
Cool
Solid foundation for what could be a great sitcom. One way or another I hope you get this project made and we get to see it on tv on a regular basis
I like the informal, talking-around-the-table. And I like that you can make fun of yourself. It's a nice vibe. Yay for Peterborough!
Are there any other characters yet? What about a window cleaner who sings as he cleans windows? Or squeegy (sp?) *punks* who get picked up by a mini-van driven by their parents? Lets see some of the small town eccentricities that are just waiting to get their air time.
Hahaha! Love the suggestions, Andrew! And yes, those colourful characters and more will be making an appearance as we reveal more of the show.
I like the ease of this team. There is a settled-ness to their delivery. Still would like to know more about where the show is going to go but I guess that will be the next part of the challenge. I'll keep watching.
Thanks for sticking with us, Nathan. We promise to reveal much more should we advance in the contest. Its all ready and waiting!
That guy has a wicked radio voice. Also, loved the Peterborough shots!! Wishing you good luck in the competition.
Thanks Olivia (said in a deep radio voice)!
I want to breathe Dead Air. I want to drink it in with my eyes like a new kinda can-con balloon helium till they pop with delight.
I don't mind letting everyone know that I have a weakness for men named Baranabas.
Love it! Can't wait for the next clip
Christy H! You are delightful!
Loving the personalities on display here -- the casual roundtable talk was a nice approach to convey the message. Great characters and I love the small-town celebrity premise. Looking forward to seeing more. Let's go, Peterborough.
Thanks Mike! We're thrilled to be in the running with two other very talented Peterborough teams.
I know these guys! Hey guys! Hey! It's me! Hey! Hey...Hello?....Guys?....
I happen to think Ray H is dreamy. The H stands for Hunk.
Ray H?? Yeah, never heard of him.
Like the concept. Keeping things real. Definitely voting for you folks..
Thanks Colleen C! We're definitely voting for you. In something. Not sure what yet. But whatever it is, you've got our vote locked down.
Love the frankness of the round table discussion. You folks are very good at teasing us with little insights into your world and then making us come back for more. I like not knowing where things are going to go next! I, for one, cannot wait to see where you go from here!
How British is your comedy though? What percentage of your jokes involve the word "vicar"? Is it going to be more like the British or American office? Who's your Dwigt? Are you all Dwights?
Caught on the can...brilliant!
Good luck today!!! I really like this premise and would love to see what you guys could do with it in the next stage! Rooting for you!
Dom - YARNS
Seems interesting but not entirely clear on the concept. Certainly small town aspect is good and everyone likes British comedy. Looking forward to seeing more of this. Good Luck
You're doing a masterful job of giving a taste of what you're about then pulling the steaming bowl of smiles away. The exterior shots of Peterborough's stately homes, refurbished clock tower and filthy geese looked slick and smooth. Very natural performances with great lines. "...British humour but with better teeth." Linda's bursts of profanity towards Jay continue to make me smile, a very nice woman with a hair trigger temper is endearing and quite sexy. Really enjoyed Jay's anecdote about the benefits of local celebrity. "I never listen. I listen to the other station." Self deprecating and charming and so true. Meagan gives my heart murmur a fever. Great work!!
I like the concept for this show, liked the joke with Linda but I would have liked to see more than just sitting at a table.
I would have really liked to see something more from your show. I think your concept is interesting and it would have been great to see where you guys plan on taking it. It's great that you guys did manage to keep some humour in all of your videos though. Good luck with the competition!
Brilliance once again from three creative and very funny folk! The realistic approach was sincere, honest and rather hilarious!!!
I liked the opening bit. The Jayperformance was a little flat but Linda totally sold the joke. More Linda!
I would've preferred a whole sketch rather than the discussion, but oh well. I've worked in radio before so I'm hoping this one will be a finalist. Good luck, team!
The Patch crew is getting closer to the finish line of the CBC Comedy Coup TV special award! This video is a more candid, behind the scenes look at... wait. There are no scenes. Well it may be a fraud and a sham, but I still love these guys and I know the professional talent is rock solid and the concept is going to put them ahead of the competition. All the way to week 10! I smell a hit (or is that Jay's hair gel)
Hello fellow Peterborough competitors. I think you've got incredibly strong characterization here and the video is super effective in explicitly expressing what makes the show different, however I'd also love to see the videos really represent the style of the show. I believe in the first video you talked about The Office as a stylistic influence and there's a great opportunity to get Linda into full mockumentary mode.
Really like the concept for this show, big fan of small-town radio, which can no doubt offer up many unique situations compared to the big city stations! Great work so far, looking forward to seeing more from the Dead Air crew!
Well thanks Kris M!! You're a helluva guy!
It's not me, it's Dead Air.
Claim your brew Adam M!! And break legs with your project! Making Peterborough proud!
ok i like you guys! now show me some funny script action!
Thanks Sarah Thomas M!! Thanks for liking us. We like you too! And we will show the awesomeness that is our script....that mission is coming...like prom, you've gotta wait until the end of the night to see our training bra.
I think there is some promise here, but I am still wanting you to show it. I figure if you are in radio you can tell a good story, but when can I see it?
Hey Geoff R! Thanks for the comment. Get us through the top 15 and we'll show you ours....and you won't even have to show us yours...!!
I loved this! Very funny and at the same time charming. Getting a glimpse of the talent behind the ideas and seeing them chatting in such a relaxed setting only confirmed for me that I need to see more. Well done!
Thanks Dianne B. We were totally relaxed....and drunk.
